What a glorious day it was today. Among other things, hubby and I went for a very long walk. I am absolutely no good at estimating distances so I can't say exactly how far. But we went on this walking trail that goes along a canyon. We've walked it many times since they built it several years ago. It goes out with the canyon on one side and a wheat field on the other and it's quite nice, because they've planted a lot of trees along it. But they've recently extended it quite a bit, as they got some more grant money and now it is dang long.
We hadn't been to the end of the extended trail until today, so now we can say we did it. The beautiful weather made everyone want to get out and play so lots of people were out and about like we were. We also met lots of friendly dogs.

I watched "60 Minutes" tonight so I could see the interview with the pilot who crashed the plane into the river in New York. It was really cool to hear from the entire crew. But I was reminded of a newscaster I heard right after the crash on Jan. 15. She said, in reference to all the boats who raced over to the plane to help the passengers, something along the lines of "Only in New York do people rush toward a tragedy instead of running away from it."
Really, it's not only in New York that happens. I can't believe someone would have the nerve to say that. I think in many cases when there has been some sort of accident or tragedy, people everywhere rush toward it to see if they can help, no matter where they are. Seriously, it's not just in New York that people act heroically. My eyes are rolling as I type.
It's pretty rude to say something like that.
